How to plan a RV trip…
Planning a road trip
First, choose your destination. Determine how many hours/ days are going to take you to get there and come back home.
Then, define how long is going to be your stay. Once your destination is picked, check all service availabilities such as water, electricity and sewer. When all these three are combined is what is called full hook up.
Second, think about your party size and what would be the most convenient and comfortable RVing way you should take. Options are delivery, towing or drive.
Delivery Pros: get to your destination driving your own vehicle and the ring is all set up ready to enjoy you stay. Once taking off, tanks cleaning and sanitizing are included in your delivery fee.
Delivery Cons: your camp is fixed. Delivery fee gets up your trip cost.
Towing Pros: you can plan multiple stops. At your destinations, you have your vehicle to drive and visit surround areas or places.
Towing Cons: be aware of limitations of your vehicle towing capacity. Towing increase your vehicle gas consumption.
Drive Pros: it is a lot easier than towing. Your vehicle and your living space are together all the time. Your party travel more comfortable and can enjoy the ride watching TV, playing game board or even napping and relaxing. Parking at your camp site is simple and finally power and water are available on the road to stop at any location.
Drive Cons: finding parking in town/ cities/ downtowns is a little more difficult. Your miles per gallon can range between 8 and 11MPG. These coaches are not designed to go off road. In some cases, weight and size can limit your place of destination.
Third, get ready to pack.
Clothing: pack your clothing depending on your destination weather. For example, summer trips are usually easy and light. Shorts, swimming suit, t-shirts, water shoes, sneakers/ hiking shoes are among others. On the other hand, winter weather requires jackets, long or sweatpants, sweaters, long sleeves t- shirts and even blankets to sit outdoor since it can get chilly at nights.
Meals: plan your meals based on how long your stay is going to be. Finally, don’ t forgets your toys! Toys and others: Camping chairs, picnic tables, canopies, cooler, fishing gears, life jackets, scooters, bikes, balls and any other outdoor toy you can enjoy. Is your pet traveling with you? Make sure your pet is cover as well.
We look forward to seeing you RV camping soon.
